Do you love talking about hair, skincare, or makeup? Most people that approach me about starting a beauty blog are hesitant since it’s an oversaturated niche. You may wonder how you would stand out from the crowd, and I understand because I had those same thoughts!
If writing is something you’re passionate about but you can’t seem to gather the courage to start, then this post is for you. There’s never a ‘right time‘ for anything in life. If you continue to
Having a blog is a great way to share your experiences with new products, explain how to do a certain task, and connect with other women who love all things beauty like you!
In this post, we’re going to discuss 5 reasons why you should start your beauty blog!
Gain More Confidence
When you start creating content and putting yourself out there for the Internet to see, it can be intimidating, especially if you’re more of an introvert like myself! However, if you don’t step outside of your comfort zone, you won’t experience any growth.
Stepping outside of your comfort zone gives you a feeling of accomplishment, which results in more confidence within yourself. If you never thought you could do something but conquered it anyway, then you’ll know for a fact that anything is possible.
It’s up to you to decide what topics you’ll talk about when you start a beauty blog. As you continue to gain more experience, you’ll feel comfortable providing your audience with tips and personal experiences on any beauty topic.
Starting your beauty blog can inspire others to do the same if it’s something they’re passionate about.
People are always watching you. I never thought about having other women look up to me, however, it’s a great feeling when you know you’re inspiring others to reach their goals!
Although the beauty community does have a lot of bloggers, you can stand out by telling your story and sharing different experiences with others. You never know how many people will relate to situations you go through with your hair, skin, or makeup!
Whether you inspire 100 people or one person, just know you’re on the right path!
Building A Community
There are different groups on Facebook you can join where you can connect with more beauty bloggers and learn more tips that will help you grow! No matter how long you’ve been on your journey, there’s always something new you can learn from someone else.
Another benefit of joining these groups is receiving engagement on your blog posts. Some of the groups allow you to share your content and people who are interested will read, comment, and possibly subscribe!
Knowing that you have a supportive community backing you up will motivate you to keep going. Make sure you’re also showing the same support back to other bloggers, it’s not a one-sided community. As you continue to engage with more people, the love will come back to you.
Here are some of my favorite Facebook Groups:
- Unashamed Bloggers
- Carbon Academy
- I’d Rather Be Paid (Blogging + Influencer Group)
- Blogging Boss Chicks
- Blogging Babes
You Love Writing
Growing up, I enjoyed writing whether it was poems or short stories. Writing is therapeutic and I enjoy spending time alone while doing it! If you’ve always wanted to blog and you’re interested in discussing beauty topics, then starting one is the best option.
When you’re passionate about something, it won’t seem like a burden or a chore to keep up with. It’ll be easy to stay consistent with content and you’ll make sure everything you create is good-quality.
You Can Make Money
Do NOT start your blog just to make money! If you don’t have the right intentions, I promise you won’t last long. Blogging takes a lot of hard work and dedication, and it also takes time to start making an income.
I didn’t know anything about making money from a blog until later on in my journey. To me, it’s another benefit of doing what I’m passionate about! I mean, it can’t get any better than that right? Making money to talk about beauty topics that you love? Sign me up!
As your blog continues to grow, you can make money by joining affiliate programs, running ads, doing sponsored posts, and creating/selling products.
