I posted a video on Instagram reviewing a shampoo bar from one of my favorite brands. This video sparked a lot of questions about shampoo bars and whether or not they’re worth spending coins on!
Surprisingly, a lot of people have never tried a shampoo bar before! Ever since I started supporting small black-owned brands, I’ve added shampoo bars into my regimen. I was hesitant at first because a shampoo bar isn’t something you’d think about using.
I didn’t understand how it would benefit me, but let me tell you guys something…shampoo bars are BOMB! I’m glad I experimented with them because I would’ve been missing out on a product that is convenient and affordable.
So why should YOU add a shampoo bar to your product stash? Keep reading to find out the benefits of using them in your routine!
You save product
Here is an example of how big a shampoo bar is, however, each brand varies in size. You don’t need a lot to create a decent lather for your hair. One thing that many people do is cut the shampoo bar into small pieces to preserve it longer.
Liquid shampoos are used quickly. If you pour too much in your hand, it’s not like you can put it back in the bottle. Shampoo bars will last you for months, now that sounds like a great deal.
The shampoo bars I’ve used have been moisturizing for my hair and hasn’t given me the stripped feeling other shampoos have. Although it cleanses my hair and scalp well, it doesn’t leave it dried out which is amazing. A shampoo bar contains organic ingredients that gently cleanse and moisturize your hair.
It leaves my hair tangle free and I can usually move straight to deep conditioning after using one.
Shampoo bars are affordable
Who doesn’t want to save money here and there? Most shampoo bars range between $5 – $10 (it depends on which brand you purchase from). Your shampoo bar will last a long time, so think about how much money you’re saving on products.
One brand that sells affordable shampoo bars is Bobeam Naturals. They have many options to choose from, just know you can’t go wrong!
Less manipulation on your hair
Using shampoo bars eliminates the need to constantly rub your hair to create a lather. I apply my shampoo bars by drenching my hair with water, and then rubbing the bar around my edges and nape area. You can also lather it between your hands before using it.
Here is a list of small, black-owned brands that sell shampoo bars. I have used most of these and loved them!
