Natural Hair Gift Ideas

Satin Pillowcases

One of the first natural hair gift ideas is a satin pillowcase. Sleeping with this is important if you want to protect your curls. You can also double your protection by wearing a satin bonnet or scarf.

Satin can help your hair retain moisture longer, keep your style fresh, and prevent split ends.

Kazmaleje Paddle Comb

One of the best natural hair gift ideas is the Paddle Comb from a black-owned brand called Kazmaleje.

Kazmaleje creates tools to address the styling and detangling needs for natural hair. When I first saw this Paddle Comb, I was hesitant to purchase it, however, I’m glad I did!

It’s sturdy and does an amazing job at detangling whether I’m doing a pre-poo, deep conditioning, or styling. I can easily detangle thicker sections without worrying about breakage.

The Paddle Comb can also be used for blow-drying and scalp massages.

Scalp Massager

I’ve been using this handheld scalp massager for years and it hasn’t disappointed me! Doing scalp massages regularly has the following benefits:

  • Increases blood circulation to the scalp
  • Promotes healthy hair growth
  • Strengthens the roots
  • Prevents flakes and dryness

It reaches your scalp easily without causing tangles and it vibrates which is very relaxing!

Sparkly Hair Clips

Adding accessories to your hairstyles can take them to the next level and add extra spice!

There are a variety of hair clips with sparkles and rhinestones that you can use. Some of them are customized with words such as boss, queen, and goals.

Whenever you want to switch things up, accessories like these are perfect to reach for.

Bunzee Bands

Bunzee Bands are adjustable hair ties that’ll help you achieve the perfect high puff. You won’t have to worry about these causing a headache or putting extra tension on your edges.

This can help you stay comfortable throughout the day when you wear puffs since they provide a soft hold.

BunzeeBands are also stretchy and can fit around thicker hair with no issue!

Flairosol Spray Bottle

A Flairosol bottle will make styling and refreshing your curls easier. These provide a continuous mist with one push.

It can reduce the amount of time it takes to style, evenly distribute water, and keep your hair moisturized.

You don’t have to worry about too much water coming out at once and saturating your hair. This bottle allows you to have more control!

Shears

Instead of going to a stylist, you may want to save time and money and cut your hair at home. Before doing that, you want to invest in professional scissors or shears so you can achieve a precise cut.

You can also use shears to dust your hair. Dusting is a technique that involves cutting a small amount off the ends of your hair. This can help get rid of split ends before they become worse.

Although this method is beneficial, it’s important to remember that it doesn’t replace your professional trims!

Here’s a tutorial showing an example of how I dust my ends.

Rat Tail Comb

I used to be against using rat tail combs, however, they’ve been helpful for my routine.

You can use these combs to part your hair and detangle your ends while styling.

Whenever I’m doing a twist-out, I make sure to run this comb through the ends of my hair so my style can come out smooth and free from tangles.

Microfiber Towel

Microfiber towels are great for drying your hair without causing damage, frizz, or breakage. It does a great job of removing excess water and it doesn’t cause tangles which is always a plus.

I love using the Turbie Twist Microfiber Hair Wrap in my routine. It’s made with super absorbent material and is designed to gently and quickly dry your hair.

Thermal Hot Head

Adding heat while deep conditioning is key, and an easy, convenient way to do that is with this microwaveable cap from Thermal Hot Head.

The heat will open up your hair’s cuticle which means your product will be able to penetrate your strands better.

Besides deep conditioning, it can also be used for pre-poo treatments, DIYs, and hot oil treatments.

The African Pride Pre-Shampoo is a moisturizing and detangling blend that conditions, remove tangles, protects, and leaves your curls manageable. The key ingredients are Aloe Vera and Coconut Water.

The consistency is slimy like Aloe and it provides plenty of slip. No matter how tangled or matted my hair is, it removes all knots and shed hair easily.
