November 2, 2020

The holidays are around the corner and it’s time to surprise your loved ones with something meaningful. As a person who has struggled with their mental health for years, I decided to put together a list of the perfect gifts for people with anxiety.

If you have someone in your life who struggles with this, there are thoughtful holiday gifts you can get them.

Self-care has been a priority for me this year and I found products to add to my routine that help me relax. These have also been perfect for relieving stress, combating insomnia, and keeping me calm.

Buying gifts for people with anxiety will give them a boost of happiness and make them feel special. It doesn’t even have to be for someone else, you can treat yourself to these options too!

Gifts for People With Anxiety

Asutra Silk Eye Mask

One meaningful gift for people with anxiety is the Silk Eye Pillow from Asutra.

Asutra is a brand that’s passionate about self-care. They offer wellness products at an accessible price and believe taking care of yourself on purpose will help you feel better mentally and physically — which is true!

Their Silk Eye Mask has been perfect for my nighttime routine. It can be used as a weighted sleep mask to block out light, during meditation/yoga, and to relieve headaches + migraines. It’s filled with Lavender and Flaxseeds which gives it the extra weight and smells amazing!

Lavender is one of my favorite scents because it’s calming. It has the following benefits:

  • Relieves stress
  • Reduces anxiety
  • Lowers blood pressure
  • Combats insomnia

The aroma from the mask isn’t overpowering, it’s just enough to help you relax throughout the night.

Chamomile-Infused Pillow

An aromatherapy pillow is one of the best gifts for people with anxiety.

I’ve never heard of aromatherapy pillows until I came across this Chamomile-Infused Memory Foam Pillow while watching TV. I’m glad I decided to try it out because it has been perfect for my anxiety at night.

The pillow is infused with natural Lavender oil and Chamomile scent. Chamomile has been proven to help people have a better night’s sleep and they didn’t lie! It smells amazing and it’s very comfortable to lay on.

One side of the pillow is made with 50% olefin which is a material that helps you stay cool throughout the night. Do you ever wake up in the middle of the night and flip your pillow over because it’s hot? You won’t have to worry about that since this material stays cooler than room temperature. The other side is made with 50% bamboo which is the most eco-friendly fabric.

I highly recommend gifting this to someone! They’ll love it and get some of the best sleep.

Journal

Surprise your loved one with a journal to help them with their anxiety.

Another meaningful gift for people with anxiety is a journal. I started journaling last year after my therapist at the time recommended it. Writing down my thoughts and emotions has had a positive impact on my mental health. This is an opportunity for you to express yourself in a safe space and get everything off your chest.

I’m the type that doesn’t like talking about their emotions — I bottle them up, however, that hasn’t worked out the best for me. When I take the time to write in my journal, I feel a weight lifted from my shoulders!

You don’t have to wait until you’re in a bad mood to write in your journal. Another good thing to do is write down your goals, what you’re grateful for, accomplishments, and positive affirmations you can repeat daily.

Aromatherapy Diffuser

Aromatherapy is perfect for anxiety. Investing in a diffuser with your favorite essential oils will keep your space smelling good and promote relaxation.

Here are some great essential oils to use:

  • Lavender
  • Chamomile
  • Ylang-ylang
  • Frankincense
  • Rose

Soothe CBD Gummies

CBD is a great natural remedy for providing stress relief and reducing anxiety.

Soothe Life is a lifestyle brand made for those seeking a natural boost in their everyday life. They focus on enhancing lives by providing pure, high-quality CBD products to incorporate in your daily routine.

Their CBD gummies have helped manage my anxiety. I didn’t like the medications my doctors kept giving me, therefore, I took matters into my own hands and found out about the benefits of using CBD. These gummies are THC-free, fast-acting, and taste great.

Taking this has helped me stay calm and relax. I recommend taking them before bedtime. Besides the gummies, Soothe also offers CBD oil, water-soluble powder, vaporizers, and lotions.

Herbal Tea

There’s nothing like a cup of warm tea before winding down for bed. Herbal teas are great to incorporate if you’re looking for a drink to soothe your anxiety and stress.

Here are great ingredients to look for when choosing teas for anxiety:

  • Peppermint
  • Chamomile
  • Lavender
  • Turmeric
  • Ashwagandha

One brand I recommend checking out is Taylor Made Holistic. She’s a black-owned brand that promotes mental & physical wellness and healthy living. My favorite tea from her is Moon Vibes which aids in rest and relaxation. Some of the ingredients are Chamomile, Passion Flowers, Lemongrass, and Spearmint.

Weighted Blanket

A weighted blanket is a natural form of therapy that eases anxiety, relieves stress, and improves your sleep. It’s known to create a physical connection that has a positive effect on the nervous system which affects your mood and stress levels.

This blanket promotes deep touch pressure which is known to stimulate the production of serotonin and dopamine — they both provide a calming and relaxing effect.

Here are more benefits of using a weighted blanket:

  • Reduces restlessness
  • Boosts melatonin
  • Promotes a happier mood
  • Alleviates insomnia
  • Improves sleep quality

Crystals

Crystals are something new I added into my wellness routine and I’ve fallen in love with them. I purchased my crystals from a black-owned brand I found on Instagram called Chakrazulu Crystals. There are many to choose from and they each have different properties. Some crystals that are great for anxiety are:

  • Rose Quartz
  • Amethyst
  • Blue Calcite
  • Amazonite
  • Black Tourmaline

If you don’t know much about crystals, I suggest doing your research to understand the benefits and purpose of using them. You can find two books below that I purchased from Amazon if you’re interested in adding these to your self-care routine.

Face Masks

The perfect gift for people with anxiety is a relaxing face mask for their skincare routine.

Skincare is a form of self-care for me. Taking the time to pamper myself and take care of my skin always puts me in a good mood. One step I look forward to is applying a face mask.

Here are some of my favorites! These contain clean ingredients and will leave your skin glowing and soft:

Planners

The final perfect gift for people with anxiety is a planner. One thing that triggers my anxiety is when things are all over the place. I need my space clean and somewhere to organize my tasks and ideas. Planners are perfect for that and can be a great stress reliever.

Planning out my goals and to-do list is helpful and helps me stay on track without overwhelming myself.

If you want to support another black-owned business, I suggest getting a planner from The Book’d Store. My mom bought this as a gift for me at the beginning of 2020 and I love it. It comes with a ton of goodies and it’s attractive!

If you aren’t sure what to buy for someone, grab a few things from this gift guide! These have made a big difference in my self-care routine and I’m glad I bought them. When you put thought into a gift for someone, it’ll make their day!
