5 Clean Beauty Products That Combat Dark Spots

Results from using Premier Naturals by K2 African Black Soap

Do you know what’s a pain in the butt? Waking up to a new breakout with bumps on your face. And what’s even worse? Once that breakout starts to clear up, you’re left with hyperpigmentation to get rid of. I’ve struggled with this for years. Dealing with skincare issues like this can make us feel self-conscious!

Throughout the years I’ve tried many DIY’s, natural remedies, and products that claimed to get rid of hyperpigmentation. If I saw someone recommend a product for dark spots, I had to have it.

It’s been an up and down journey with my skin, however, I’m satisfied with where it is today. I knew I wanted to see a change, therefore, it required consistency and most importantly patience in my routine. We always want to see changes overnight, however, skincare doesn’t work that way. You have to give products enough time to work their magic and not give up because you don’t see immediate results.

In this post, I’m sharing my top favorite clean beauty products that helped me clear up my dark spots and gain my confidence back.

Products That Get Rid of Hyperpigmentation

Genedor Beauty Retinol Complex

Retinol has been a game-changer since adding it to my routine. Here are some benefits of using it:

  • Helps fight acne
  • Evens out skin tone
  • Reduces wrinkles
  • Stimulates collagen

The Even Tone Retinol Complex from Genedor Beauty is amazing if you need to get rid of hyperpigmentation. I use this every night and it has done an amazing job at clearing up breakouts and dark spots. It fights the signs of skin discoloration and brightens your problem areas. When you first start using Retinol, you want to use it a few times per week to make sure your skin can tolerate it.

This product is on the pricier side, $100 for a bottle. Yes, I know, don’t make that face… I already know what you’re thinking! Who would want to spend that much money on a product? Well, sis, it works! Normally I wouldn’t spend that much money on beauty products, however, I’ve seen the results and it always gets my skin right! Make sure you subscribe to her emails because she does have good sales. I was able to get 50% off both times I purchased this.

If that is outside of your budget, an affordable option that still provides good results is The Ordinary Granactive Retinoid. Make sure when you use Retinol, you apply sunscreen every morning!

The Ordinary Rosehip Seed Oil

Rosehip oil is one of my favorite facial oils to use in my skincare routine. Besides working perfectly for reducing hyperpigmentation, it has more benefits such as:

  • Boosts collagen formation
  • Protects against sun damage
  • Provides moisture + hydration
  • Reduces inflammation

I’ve been using this oil from The Ordinary for a while now and it always leaves my skin glowing and moisturized. I’m able to use it on its own without a cream moisturizer. I apply this as the last step in my routine and it has proved to be beneficial for those annoying dark spots as well.

This oil is affordable and will last for months since a little goes a long way. Of course, I grab it from Amazon and you can find it below:

Pixi Beauty Glow Tonic

The Pixi Beauty Glow Tonic can get rid of hyperpigmentation, reduce acne, and exfoliates your skin.

The Glow Tonic from Pixi Beauty is the most recent addition to my routine and all I can say is… the hype is real. I’ve always heard great things about this toner and I’m glad Pixi Beauty sent me this to try. One ingredient that’s in this product is Glycolic Acid which is perfect for getting rid of hyperpigmentation. Glycolic Acid also does the following:

  • Reduces acne
  • Has anti-aging benefits
  • Exfoliates your skin by loosening dead cells
  • Improves skin texture and complexion

Since this is a toner, you would use this on freshly cleansed skin. It can be used twice a day, however, I’ve cut it down to 2-3 times per week at nighttime. Using this leaves my skin brighter and I’m glad it also removes any dirt my cleanser may have missed.

Pixi Beauty Glow Tonic and Organic Cotton Rounds are the perfect combination when toning your skin.

This toner is alcohol-free and is formulated with other nourishing ingredients such as Aloe Vera, Ginseng, Witch Hazel, and Glycerin. When using this toner, I recommend these cotton pads that are pictured above. I love these because they are gentle on my skin and don’t tear apart like other ones. They’re also affordable and can be found on Amazon!

Premier Naturals by K2 African Black Soap

Using African Black Soap has helped me get rid of hyperpigmentation and breakouts.

Adding Premier Naturals by K2 African Black Soap into my routine was one of the best decisions for my skin. Many people tend to steer clear from African Black Soap since it can be drying, however, this works perfectly and doesn’t leave my skin tight or irritated.

This soap played a huge part in getting my skin back on track. Before using this, I was switching up my cleansers constantly (which explains why I broke out) and when I dedicated my time back to this soap, my skin thanked me for it and I was pleased with my results.

If you haven’t tried African Black Soap before, I recommend this brand. This has many benefits for our skin such as:

  • Thoroughly cleanses + exfoliates the skin
  • Contains antibacterial properties
  • Fights breakouts
  • Reduces hyperpigmentation
  • Soothes irritated skin

If you need to get rid of hyperpigmentation, try this out and you’ll start seeing results with consistent use.

Teami Blends Green Tea Detox Mask

The last product that has helped me achieve clear skin is Teami Blends Green Tea Detox Mask. I found out about this product in 2017 and have been using it ever since. This mask is formulated with Organic Matcha Green Tea, Lemongrass, and Bentonite Clay which makes it the perfect mask for removing impurities.

It also contains antioxidants that can replenish your skin and leave it smooth and renewed! I love how easily this mask glides on and it has never dried my skin out. How often you use this mask is up to you, however, no more than 2 times per week should suffice. Make sure you add this facial mask into your stash, I promise you won’t regret it!
