Do you know what’s a pain in the butt? Waking up to a new breakout on your face. And what’s even worse? Once it starts to clear up, you’re left with hyperpigmentation to get rid of. Dealing with issues like this can make us feel self-conscious!
I’ve tried many DIYs, remedies, and products that claimed to get rid of hyperpigmentation. If I saw someone recommend a product for dark spots, I had to have it.
It’s been an up and down journey with my skin, however, I’m satisfied with where it is today. I knew I wanted to see a change, therefore, it required consistency and most importantly patience.
We always want to see changes overnight, however, skincare doesn’t work that way. You have to give products enough time to work their magic and not give up because you don’t see immediate results.
In this post, I’m sharing my top favorite clean beauty products that helped me clear up my dark spots and gain my confidence back.

Get Rid of Hyperpigmentation:
Crabtree & Evelyn Exfoliating Toner

The Brighten + Hydrate Exfoliating Toner from Crabtree & Evelyn is perfect if you need to get rid of hyperpigmentation. It provides nourishment for my dry skin while also loosening up dead skin cells for exfoliation.
It’s formulated with the following acids:
- Lactic Acid
- Glycolic Acid
- Malic Acid
- Salicylic Acid
All of these acids work together to break up excess sebum for a deep cleanse, minimize the appearance of pores, and create smoother skin.
It also contains Apple Fruit Water for hydration and soothing Liquorice Root. I love using this toner in my nighttime routine after cleansing so that my skin can reap these amazing benefits while I sleep!

Josie Maran Pineapple Cleanser

The Pineapple Enzyme Cleanser from Josie Maran is a 2-in-1 cleanser and exfoliator for brightening and smoothing congested, rough skin. These enzymes naturally exfoliate without drying out the skin and can reduce the appearance of enlarged pores.
It’s also formulated with Marshmallow Root which helps restore moisture and balance without leaving the skin stripped.
All you need is 1-2 pumps and the gel will transform into a lightweight foamy lather. I love that it smells like fresh pineapples and it leaves my skin feeling silky and refreshed.
This cleanser is worth the price! Josie Maran’s products have been a staple in my routine for years and haven’t failed me yet. You’ll fall in love with this cleanser once you try it.

Pixi Beauty Glow Tonic

The Glow Tonic from Pixi Beauty is the most recent addition to my routine and all I can say is… the hype is real. I’ve heard great things about this toner and I’m glad Pixi Beauty sent me this to try. One ingredient in this product is Glycolic Acid which is perfect for getting rid of hyperpigmentation. Glycolic Acid also does the following:
- Reduces acne
- Has anti-aging benefits
- Exfoliates your skin by loosening dead cells
- Improves skin texture and complexion
Since this is a toner, you would use this on freshly cleansed skin. It can be used twice a day, however, I’ve cut it down to 2-3 times per week at nighttime. Using this leaves my skin brighter and I’m glad it also removes any dirt my cleanser may have missed.
This toner is alcohol-free and is formulated with other nourishing ingredients such as Aloe Vera, Ginseng, Witch Hazel, and Glycerin. When using this toner, I recommend these cotton pads. I love these because they are gentle on my skin and don’t tear apart like other ones. They’re also affordable!
Good Molecules Discoloration Serum

The Discoloration Correcting Serum from Good Molecules has done an amazing job of helping me achieve an even skin tone.
Two key ingredients you’ll find in this serum are 2% Tranexamic Acid and 4% Niacinamide. Both of these work together to help fade hyperpigmentation and improve the appearance of skin texture and enlarged pores.
I love that it can prevent future hyperpigmentation from occurring while targeting your existing dark spots. This serum is also lightweight and absorbs quickly into the skin.
I’m glad I decided to add this to my routine because it has made my overall complexion brighter!
Teami Blends Detox Mask

The last product that helped me achieve clear skin is the Green Tea Detox Mask from Teami Blends. I found out about this product in 2017 and have been using it ever since. This mask is formulated with Organic Matcha Green Tea, Lemongrass, and Bentonite Clay.
It also contains antioxidants that can replenish your skin and leave it smooth and renewed! I love how easily this mask glides on and it has never dried my skin out. How often you use this mask is up to you, however, no more than 2 times per week should suffice.
If you want to get rid of hyperpigmentation, you want to pay attention to what you’re using!
Invest in products that are formulated with ingredients that will combat dark spots and stay away from anything that contains harmful chemicals — using those on your skin will only worsen your concerns.

I heard green tea was great for the skin. I definitely want to try that mask. Great post!
Thank you for reading ♥️ Yes Green Tea is great for hyperpigmentation and acne. I used to make my own Green Tea toner specifically for those concerns!
My main problem is trying to decide if I should go with an entire line or buy products from various lines. I was thinking of trying the Fenty line next. I hope you’ll review it one day!
I understand! I’ve been hesitant to try the Fenty line because I heard that the fragrance is too strong for sensitive skin. But, we shall see!
