Equipment for Content Creators
When you start your journey as a creator, it’s okay to use what you already have! There’s no need to purchase a professional camera in the beginning because your cellphone can produce quality content on its own.
Until you’re ready to upgrade, focus on creating content in areas that have the most natural lighting. The brightness of your posts can make or break the quality.
You also want to use editing apps such as Adobe Lightroom to enhance your content. This app can transform a dull photo into a beautiful, quality piece of content that your community will love!
A tripod is perfect for holding your phone or camera while creating content. Most tripods have adjustable legs to make them taller if
The Amazon Basics Tripod is sturdy and helps me achieve crisp images and videos. It can improve the stability and quality of your content since it keeps your devices steady.
You want your pictures and videos to come out bright and attractive. A ring light is perfect to use when you don’t have much lighting in your area. When your content looks good, your audience is more likely to show engagement.
The first budget-friendly option that I purchased was the Selfie Ring Light. Although it’s smaller, it provided enough light for my content. It also comes with a phone holder and Bluetooth remote for taking pictures.
Eventually, I was able to upgrade to the Neewer Ring Light. This is perfect if you need a lot of brightness in your area and it does a great job of enhancing your features in photos and videos.
Adding Softbox Lights to your area creates the perfect balance of brightness and removes shadows.
You won’t have to worry about one side of your content being dim while the other side is bright. These lights are also beneficial if you’re with a group and need enough light to surround everyone.
Once you’re ready to invest in a professional camera, one that I recommend for beginners is the Canon Rebel T7i.
It’s important to learn your settings and find the best lens to use. Watching Youtube videos and doing your research will help you figure out how to use your camera to produce quality content.
An affordable, quality lens to start with is the 50mm, also known as the Nifty Fifty. This is a prime lens that doesn’t zoom in or out. Make sure your space is big enough before using this because you have to be a good distance away from the camera to fit in the frame.
Another lens is the Sigma 30mm which is my main go-to. This is perfect for smaller spaces and will provide a nice bokeh effect (blurry background) for your content.
Investing in a backdrop can help your content come out clean and professional. You won’t have to worry about clutter in the background becoming a distraction.
I recommend the Seamless Paper Backdrop. For the size, 53 in x 36 ft is perfect for taking selfies and recording videos. They also have a variety of colors to choose from so you can choose the best fit for your branding.
If you invest in a backdrop, then you need an Adjustable Support Stand. It’s simple to put together and lightweight. This comes with everything you need to properly hang up your backdrop and keep it gripped tightly.
You don’t have to invest in all of the equipment mentioned in this post. Do what your budget allows and continue to invest in your brand as time goes on!
