Black-Owned Nail Brands
Pressed by Ci
The owner of Pressed by Ci, Ciarra, is also a Content Creator who talks about beauty, lifestyle, and motherhood. She designs custom press-on nails that are handmade, durable, and reusable.
She originally started her brand as a way to save money while she was living in New York City. Whenever she did her nails, she received questions about where she got them from. From there, her new journey began!
Her goal is to give others the creative freedom to invest in nails without having to spend a lot of money. The majority of the time, you can never get what you want at a nail salon. She wanted to offer a better option and give women what they were looking for!
If you look at the variety of options that she offers, you’ll fall in love at first sight! She’s very talented and I love her nail designs. They’re unique and can take any look to the next level.
The owner of Shayla Snapped, Mashayla, wanted to start designing her press-on nails to save money.
Once she started creating her nails, many people wanted her to do theirs because they loved how good her designs looked. Since she wasn’t able to do everyone else’s nails full-time, she came up with Shayla Snapped so that women could achieve the salon look of nails at a lower cost.
She loves the convenience of wearing press-on’s and loved that they aren’t harsh on her real nails + they’re easy to remove. Her nails are gorgeous and I can’t wait to support her!

Triple O Nail Polish
Symantha is the creator of Triple O, a black-owned nail polish brand that’s vegan and handmade. The owner has always enjoyed getting her nails done, however, she decided to start creating her own polish when she wasn’t satisfied with her results at the nail salon.
She noticed that there weren’t many shade options that paired well with brown skin tones and she was tired of being disappointed.
Her nail polish colors are bold and look great on every skin tone! Their mission is based on diversifying beauty in nail care and keeping women of color in mind while designing different shades of polish.
I love that her brand amplifies representation in the beauty industry and doesn’t contain toxic ingredients!
Mented Cosmetics was created because the owners believed that every woman should be able to find herself in the world of beauty no matter what her skin tone is. Their products are pigmented to match from light to tan to darker skin tones.
Besides lipsticks, they also have a nail polish collection. Their nail polish is made from high-quality formulas to create beautiful long-lasting colors. They’re made in three unique hues that match perfectly on every skin tone.
Another thing that I appreciate is their products are vegan, cruelty-free, and made from ingredients that will keep your nails fresh for days. I love the pinkish shade and it’s on my radar to try in the future!

Her nail polish celebrates medium-to-darker skin tones and is also named after trips, inspirational women, and self-care. The names of her collections caught my attention the most and I love how unique her brand is.
She has a variety of beautiful shades to choose from and I love her backstory!
Mischo Beauty is a clean beauty brand that creates vegan, cruelty-free, pigmented nail lacquers. Their packaging is gorgeous, it gives off luxury vibes!
The owner, Kitiya King, started her brand after not being able to find a safe nail polish to wear during her pregnancy. With her background in cosmetology and chemistry, she decided to take matters into her hands and create what she couldn’t find.
Her formulas are 10-free which means they don’t contain ingredients that can cause birth defects, cancer, reproductive issues, and more. The shades they offer are beautiful and can be worn year-round no matter the season!
People of Color Beauty
People of Color Beauty creates nail polishes that complement the various shades of brown skin. The founder, Jacqueline Carrington, couldn’t find shades that looked good on her skin tone or the tones of others she knew.
I love their slogan: “Nail polish for people of color and those who live in color.”
Their mission is to represent people of color and the various shades of brown skin. I love that they strive to feature their nail polishes on different shades so that others can find a brand that celebrates them and their beauty.
Unfortunately, the beauty industry can make people of color an afterthought, however, People of Color create their collections with us as the first thought which is something I appreciate.
